THE STYLISH STUFF: BY SHELLY VELLA

Updated: Dec 11, 2020

Ok, so it’s been a while since I’ve penned a missive from The Stylish Stuff – far too long in fact, so what better way to make a return than to showcase the latest collection from one of my favourite slow and sustainable fashion brands, Daughter of a Bohemian. I’ve been buying into founder Nuala’s beautifully curated label for over six years and firmly believe, like Nuala, that these are clothes that you will not only treasure and keep forever, but will enjoy wearing day in, day out – whether dressed up or down. This Friday sees the arrival of an exciting array of new pieces to the DOAB website; a curated collection made using local pattern makers and seamstresses to hand-unpick vintage silk kimono and obi belts and re-imagine them into modern silhouettes, thus giving them a new lease of life. Nuala also offers a bespoke made to order service whereby the team will source a vintage kimono for you and re-purpose it into the piece of your dreams.

Photographed by yours truly last weekend, the collection is modelled by two of Nuala’s muses – Nicola St Louis – a seasoned fashion creative and author of successful blog www.thestlouisreviews.com and award winning Palestinian writer, poet and performer Dana Dajani. www.danadajani.com. All pieces will be available at www.daughterofabohemian.com from lunchtime today.
